【Event Report】Tsukuba Conference 2025 Session C-18

“Space Medicine and Digital Biotechnology: Future Medicine for Well-being of All Generations”

The Tsukuba Digital-Bio International Center organized Session (C-18) at the Tsukuba Conference 2025, held on October 3 (Fri), 2025.

This session explored the potential of future medicine through medical research conducted in space. Presentations introduced findings on physiological and psychological changes that occur under space conditions—such as muscle atrophy and bone density loss—and discussed perspectives on applying these insights to address health challenges in aging societies and to advance preventive medicine. Presentations by young researchers further promoted academic exchange and aimed to foster the development of an international research network.

Speakers included Mr. Ryan T. Scott from NASA Ames Research Center, as well as researchers from the University of Tsukuba and Tokyo University of Agriculture, who presented a wide range of research outcomes.

Active Q&A sessions followed each presentation, reflecting the high level of interest among participants.

With both in-person and online participation, the session concluded successfully.
We sincerely thank everyone who joined us.
